LSS and LP1 image     Launch Service Structure (LSS)

• Encloses Launch Pad 1.

• Environmentally controlled rail mounted building consisting of two door
  structures roller mounted on circular rails.

• Flame trench will accommodate up to 1.2 million pounds of rocket thrust.

• Unique design allows it to read accommodation of a wide range of vehicles:
    - Work platforms are adjustable by one foot height increments.
    - Platform inserts accommodate various sized diameter vehicles.
• 75-ton bridge crane with 157.5 feet of hook height supports rocket transfer
  from horizontal to vertical position and stacking on the launch stool.

• Accommodates Castor 120 and Minotaur launch stools and others
  as needed.

Launch Pad 1 (Orbital Pad)

• Designed to support up to Castor 120 boosted launch vehicles including,
  but not limited to:
    - Athena
    - Taurus
    - Minutemen orbiting and sub-orbital derivatives
    - Strategic Target System vehicles with class 1.1 propellants.
• Designed for all-weather operations.

• An excellent location for launching of telecommunications, remote sensing,
  imaging and space-science satellite payloads orbit.

• Pad gantry height can accommodate future expansion to Delta
  class vehicles.
