Launch Pad 2 (Sub-orbital Pad) • Used to launch sub-orbital missions. • Located about 400 feet west of LSS and about 100 feet east of IPF. • Sub-orbital missile build and payload integration performed indoors in SCAT. • Sub-orbital missile moved to LP2 indoors in the SCAT for erection and checkout. • Accommodates customer supplied launch stools, and capable of launching:
- Targets and sensors boosted by single and multi-stage combinations of Minuteman second and third stage rockets. - Commercial Castor IV class boosters. |
