Instrumentation Field • The Range Instrumentation Field supports KLC’s ground instrumentation and instrumentation of its customers. • Located adjacent to the LCC with line of sight to LSS, Launch Pad 1, SCAT, IPF, Launch Pad 2, and PPF to facilitate processing and launch. • Supports a wide range of range safety and telemetry equipment, associated antennae, and photographic equipment. • Protected Distribution Systems carry both classified and unclassified data streams from the Instrumentation Field to the LCC. • Instrumentation Field connectivity is supported through the LCC Telemetry and Communications Center. • One of KLC’s active Range Safety and Telemetry Systems (RSTS) is located in the Instrumentation Field (KLC’s other RSTS is located off-axis, either in King Salmon, Alaska or in Cordova, Alaska as necessary). • Instrumentation fields are serviced by electrical power and telephone communications. + Close window |
