1. Q: Who can use the Launch Complex?
A: Anyone! The Kodiak Launch Complex is available for fee to serve all private, commercial and military
institutions.

2. Q: Is there a public observation site for launches?
A: Kodiak has multiple locations throughout the island that offer fantastic views of the rocket launches depending on weather. For safety and security reasons the complex does not offer public viewing of launches at the launch complex.

3. Q: When is your next launch date?
A:The next launch is scheduled for the fall of 2007.

4. Q: How many launches have taken place?
A: Since 1998, eleven rockets have been launched from the Kodiak Launch Facility.

5. Q: What kind of programs do you offer for young people?

A: AADC supports a broad range of science and technology education resources for Alaska’s students from grade school through college.  These opportunities include the exciting on-site and E-mission programs of the Challenger Learning Center of Alaska, college scholarships for University of Alaska students, and the Internet-based Space Explorers program used in schools throughout the state.  See further details on the Education page.

6. Q: Can the facility launch manned spaceships?
A: At this time the Kodiak Launch Complex is not able to accommodate manned spaceship launches.

7. Q: Are rockets built on site?
A: Rockets are transported to the KLC in sections and assembled in our facilities designed for this purpose.

8. Q: How are rockets transported to the facility?
A: AADC personnel are fully equipped to manage the logistical requirements of transporting rockets to and from the KLC.  Typically, transportation to and from Kodiak is accomplished by aircraft and barge, and to the KLC by truck.  See the logistics page for more information.

9. Q: Who owns Alaska Aerospace Development Corporation?

A: AADC is an independent corporation enacted by state statute AS 14.40.861 and is owned by the State of Alaska.
